Timeless Stories

The lifestyle project "UNDECORATED" will hold its "Vintage Watch Exhibition" again this year, marking the third time the event has been held.

Vintage watches are not merely tools for telling time; they are works of art, encapsulating the historical context, design, and pinnacle of technology of their era.

For this exhibition, we interviewed three staff members who previously purchased vintage watches at this event.

The watch I acquired is the Cartier "Santos Galbée."

I was captivated by its exquisite balance of ruggedness mixed with Cartier's characteristic elegance. The intricate details, such as the exposed screws on the bracelet, are also key features. Furthermore, the moderately worn texture is unique to vintage pieces. I feel it has a presence that "asserts itself quietly."

It pairs well with both dressy jacket styles and casual outfits like denim, and this single watch elevates an entire look.

It's also more than just a "tool"; it's something that encourages me to spend my time in my own unique way.

I wasn't particularly interested in watches originally, but I thought if I were to buy one, it had to be so good that I wouldn't feel the need to buy any others. So, I purchased a Patek Philippe Calatrava, which is considered the pinnacle of dress watches.

Everywhere you look, it's a refined design with a sense of tension, meticulously stripped down to its essentials. This is a timepiece that condenses the craftsmanship unique to Patek Philippe, with its uncompromisingly simple dial, the "Clous de Paris" bezel inspired by cobblestone streets, and the thinness of its case.

Although I don't wear it every day, I like that its understated presence allows me to wear it easily, regardless of my outfit or the occasion.

The watch I cherish is the Cartier Must Tank.

I've long admired my seniors who paired vintage watches with suits, secretly thinking, "Someday, I want to do that too."

Since I wear a Cartier Trinity ring on my left hand, I thought, "If I'm buying a watch, it should probably be Cartier too." At the last event, among the several Must Tanks on display, I was particularly captivated by one and finally purchased it.

I really like the small case and the elegant combination of gold and leather materials. The rarity of the unique dial, which is uncommon and stands out, was also a deciding factor in my purchase.

I plan to enjoy making this watch the centerpiece of casual outfits, like a simple T-shirt and slacks.

Additionally, I want to try out the suit style with a vintage watch, which I've always admired.
