UNDECORATED — NiOR and Rei Uchiyama "Joint Exhibition"
NiOR and Rei Uchiyama "Joint Exhibition"
November 19 (Sat) - November 20 (Sun)
11am – 7pm
groundfloor Gallery, 1-8-1 Nakameguro, Meguro-ku, Tokyo 2F
"to UNDECORATED" is a gallery-style lifestyle project curated by UNDECORATED. We value connections between "people," "things," and "events," and will host events that fit into daily life to foster a comfortable community.
For two days, November 19 (Saturday) and November 20 (Sunday), we will hold a "Joint Exhibition" featuring exquisite bread made by NiOR, based in Ishikawa Prefecture, and cutting boards by woodworker Rei Uchiyama, who creates her works in Shiga Prefecture.
The background to this unconventional "joint exhibition" between a bakery and a woodworker is a story of how their interaction began with mutual respect for each other's work.
Curating Uchiyama's beautifully curved cutting boards and NiOR's meticulously crafted bread in one space is also a result of being naturally drawn together through the filter of "food."
This event will feature the sale of freshly baked and chilled NiOR bread and an exhibition and sale of Uchiyama's cutting boards made from chestnut wood.
Additionally, UNDECORATED 2022 Fall / Winter items will be available for purchase during the event. Many of these items are rarely seen in person or had the opportunity to be held. Please take this opportunity to enjoy them.

NiOR
Opened in Nonoichi City, Ishikawa Prefecture in February 2016. To allow customers to enjoy the original taste of wheat, they use carefully selected ingredients such as wheat and salt imported from overseas, and yeast for fermentation. They bake their bread with great care, using a wood-fired oven and differentiating equipment depending on the type of bread.
Rei Uchiyama
Born in Kagoshima Prefecture in 1984
Studied woodworking in Hida Takayama, Gifu Prefecture
Currently creating works in Shiga Prefecture
