The material used is organic Turkish cotton, harvested in the Izmir region on the Mediterranean coast. Unlike hand-picked cotton, this fabric is machine-picked, resulting in fewer impurities and a very clean finish. Woven slowly and carefully by artisans using an old-fashioned shuttle loom that operates at about one-twentieth the speed of modern machines, it features a unique textured surface and a plump feel. After weaving, the fabric is washed and massaged to preserve its texture.
